Waste-to-Energy for Food Plant
High Risk
About the Project
Converting organic waste into biogas and electricity for a large food processing unit in Coimbatore. Displaces 400 LPG cylinders annually.
The food processing plant generates 5 tons of organic waste daily, which is currently sent to landfills. This project installs a Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR) biogas plant that converts this waste into methane. The methane is then used to fuel a gas engine generator, providing 100kVA of clean electricity and heat for the plant's boilers.
